Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present the legendary “Master Mug” - the mug on which all DEMOKU carvings were based. Let your eyes linger over the delicate carvings... feel the heft and power of the mug as you cradle it in your hands... run your fingers over the polished teeth... just don’t hold on too tightly - The Great DEMOKU is a mighty (and rather prickly) mug!
It is believed that carvers would use this finely chiseled deity as a guide when crafting their own DEMOKU mugs for their villages. Archaeologists suggest regularly filling and draining The Great DEMOKU mug with rum and nectars in order to preserve the mug for years to come.
The Great DEMOKU Mug is 8 inches tall and weighs 3 pounds 2.5 ounces. It is entirely hand crafted by Henrik Van Ryzin out of glazed high-fire ceramics with porcelain teeth. No molds were used in the construction of this mug. Signed and dated by the artist.
